Summary
Building the Brafferton exhibition catalogue is the first scholarship to examine the history of William & Mary's Indian School within the wider networks of trade, politics of church and state, and Great Britain's colonial enterprise in North America. In this volume, the authors seek to reconnect the College, who founded and funded the institution, to Native communities and the Indian students. By highlighting the life histories of select Brafferton students, the Brafferton Indian School can be seen as a living legacy for both indigenous peoples and William & Mary
