Our main hero is Jake Blades-Flat-tie Private Investigator who has just been hired on a case to solve the brutal murder of Senator Harrison Wrightman, the Right Man in the Governor<U+2019>s race, after being gunned down earlier in the evening while leaving a fundraising dinner at the Biltmore Hotel by the Senator's widow and his personal childhood friend, Sylvia Wrightman.
