Summary
A concerned mother from Guernsey travels to London in the immediate aftermath of the July 7, 2005 terrorist bombings after failing to hear from her daughter who lived in that area. Disturbed by the confusion of the metropolis and being surrounded by the predominantly-Muslim neighborhood, she crosses paths with Ousmane, a West African who has come from France to find his missing son, and learns that her own daughter was converting to Islam. Although from very different backgrounds, this unlikely pair shares the same hope to find their children alive. Putting aside their cultural differences, they give each other the strength to continue their search and maintain their faith in humanity. Winner of "Best Actor" and "Prize of the Ecumenical Jury - Special Mention" at the Berlin International Film Festival. "*Blethyn brings tremendous empathy to the introspective, determined Elisabeth, while the tall, gaunt and dreadlocked Ousmane fleshes out his less-dimensional role with a haunting sadness that speaks volumes*." - Gary Goldstein, **Los Angeles Times**
