Summary
Jacob Marley gasped for air, as he laid dying in his bed on the early evening hours of 24 December 1934 before passing on into the great unknown. His fellow housemate and business partner, and sole benefactor, Ebenezer Scrooge found his only friend's last moments of life on Earth a bothersome nuisance and spent most of his free time sorting through financial documents at their Piccadilly counting house than being with him. their charwoman, Mrs. Dilber sarcastically stares down at his grayish pale and sunken face without remore. His last request of her was to send for the vicar, but, all he gets in return was a brazen cackle of realization "You're daff aren't you? She snaps back at him. "What decent man of the cloth would ever give YOU absolution for all your sins? It's better to be cursed in Hell than waste his time on the likes of you? Die alreay: so I can go on home and celebrate Christmas with the rest of London!
