Summary
Features dramatizations of two sagas in the quest for the Northwest Passage by 19th and 20th century explorers. The first part of the program describes how Sir John Franklin led an unsuccessful expedition searching for an Arctic sea route in the 1840s. It tries to solve some of the mysteries surrounding the seeming disappearance of the expedition members. The second part details how, a half-century later, Roald Amundsen attempted the same expedition and examines the success of Amundsen's voyage due to the help he received from the Inuit people of Northern Canada
