Summary
Twenty-five-year-old Ben Joe Hawkes, whom his six sisters describe as "looking trustworthy," is far away from his home in Sandhill, North Carolina at law school in New York City. He misses his family. A spur-of-the-moment trip home reacquaints him with Shelley Domer, an old girlfriend. Ben Joe realizes that even though he has always tried to take care of his mother, his grandmother, and sisters, he ultimately has to trust them to live their own lives. -- Description by: Nancy Pearl
