Summary
Emma Litton has always felt estranged from her famous- artist father Ben. Sent to school in Switzerland and having worked in Paris, she comes home to England to try to discover her place in her father's affections. Then, when they are finally coming to terms with their relationship, her father is off again, and Emma is on her own--except this time for stepbrother Christo, who seizes his chance in the theater, and Robert, the man who just might be something more than a friend. Not until her father returns, unnecessarily to "rescue" her, does Emma really learn about love for a parent as well as a husband. Readers who appreciate this novel may also enjoy the family-centered, romantic novels of Barbara Whitnell, Jean Stubbs, Joanna Trollope, and Margaret Drabble. (Description by: Joyce Saricks) --
